Welcome to the 2026 Wheatland Cardinals Spring Tournament Teams
Birth Years 2013 - 2019
At Wheatland, we believe spring hockey should be a continuation of development, fun, and the excitement of tournament play—not pressure and burnout. Our spring teams are built around these values, creating opportunities for players of all levels to grow their skills, enjoy the game, and be part of a supportive hockey community.

Team Formation & Registration
We do not believe it’s necessary to create added pressure or added cost by hosting spring tryouts or “ID skates.” We trust the integrity of each player’s seasonal evaluation and believe spring hockey should be a rewarding extension of their development, not another hurdle.
As such, spring team placement will be based on your player’s level of play during the 2025/2026 regular season.
Should spots remain open on our AAA teams, we will invite interested families to participate in an open skate (at no cost) ensuring every opportunity is given to round out our rosters with passionate, hardworking players.
We will be using a tiered system for our team formations. Our goal is for all players to have a spot on a team that will provide the opportunity for fun, challenge, and growth with teammates of similar skill level. If required, age advancement of a player or combined aged teams may be used to help create the best possible experience for your athlete.
Transparent, All-Inclusive Pricing
We believe in transparency and predictability. Our program pricing includes all components listed—no hidden fees, surprise costs, or transaction add-ons. While optional merchandise will be available for fans and players, there is no expectation or pressure to purchase anything beyond what’s provided in the program. Payment will be split into a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration and three subsequent equal payments.
Accessibility & Flexibility
We are committed to ensuring accessible programming for all families. If you require additional time for payment or a personalized payment plan, please reach out. We are happy to work with you—our priority is getting kids on the ice.
Goalie Development
Recognizing that goalie families are often overlooked, we’re proud to include position-specific training from our goalie coaches at no additional cost. This training will be delivered directly to each team throughout the season by one of our Wheatland goalie coaches.
A Holistic Approach to Hockey
Our programming extends beyond the ice. Teams will explore topics like nutrition, stretching and mobility, injury prevention, mental health, and sportsmanship—helping to shape well-rounded athletes both on and off the ice.
Quality Team Merchandise
We focus on creating quality merchandise that is well made and feels great to wear. Whenever possible, we make every effort to support our fellow Winnipeg/Manitoba businesses and local economy.
