Wheatland Fundamentals

Wheatland Fundamentals is where on-ice journeys begin — a program designed for children taking their first confident steps on the ice while beginning to explore the game of hockey.

Built on the same values and community spirit as Wheatland Hockey Club, this program welcomes new skaters and new hockey players alike, providing a supportive entry point to both skating and foundational hockey skills.

Sessions focus on balance, movement, edge control, skating fundamentals, and early puck skills, all delivered in a fun, light-hearted environment that encourages confidence, curiosity, and joy on the ice.

Designed for children ages 4 and up, Wheatland Fundamentals emphasizes learning through movement and repetition while fostering a genuine love for being on the ice and around the game.

From first strides to foundational hockey habits, every session is designed to create a positive start — building comfort, confidence, and a strong base for the next steps in an on-ice journey.
