Other Development

In addition to our core pathways, Wheatland Hockey offers a range of specialized development opportunities designed to support athletes, teams, and coaches at every stage.

These programs allow for deeper focus, flexibility, and individualized support—whether that means bringing Wheatland coaching on the road, working one-on-one to target specific areas, or supporting teams and coaches with off-ice education and performance resources.

From personalized skill development and biomechanical analysis to team-based strength, conditioning, and mobility sessions, our approach remains the same: thoughtful coaching, purposeful training, and long-term athlete development.

We also believe great programs are built by great coaches. Through our Coach the Coach clinics, we share knowledge, best practices, and practical tools to help coaches create better learning environments for the athletes they lead.

Together, these offerings complement our pathways and reflect our commitment to building better players, stronger teams, and a connected hockey community—on and off the ice.

- Wheatland on the Road

We bring Wheatland coaching to your rink. Wheatland on the Road delivers high-quality, development-focused sessions to teams and associations, providing structured training, fresh perspective, and consistent coaching principles wherever athletes train.

- Team-Based Development Clinics
Our Team-Based Development Clinics allow clubs to invite Coach Rich to join a scheduled practice and run a customized on-ice session built around the specific needs of your group.

Each clinic is designed in collaboration with the coaching staff and parent group, with focus areas identified in advance—whether that’s skating habits, puck skills, small-area decision making, team concepts, or game-specific situations. The result is a targeted, efficient session that supports your existing program and complements your season-long development plan.

- One-on-One Coaching with Coach Rich

Personalized development, tailored to the athlete. One-on-one sessions with Coach Rich focus on individual needs, helping players refine skills, build confidence, and address specific areas of growth through purposeful, athlete-centred coaching.

- Biomechanical Stride Analysis

Better movement starts with understanding how you move. Our biomechanical stride analysis breaks down skating mechanics to identify inefficiencies and opportunities, supporting stronger, more powerful, and more efficient skating through informed, targeted adjustments.

- Team Strength, Conditioning & Mobility

Strong bodies support confident play. These team-based sessions focus on age-appropriate strength, mobility, and movement patterns that enhance performance, reduce injury risk, and support long-term athletic development off the ice.

- Coach the Coach Clinics

Better coaches create better experiences. Coach the Coach clinics provide practical tools, shared learning, and development-focused education to help coaches build positive environments and support athlete growth at every level.
