Who We Are

Wheatland Hockey was built on a simple belief: every athlete deserves the chance to grow, belong, and love the game.

Founded by Coach Rich and Rachel, Wheatland offers development-focused programs for players of all skill levels. Our goal goes beyond hockey skills—we help athletes build confidence, resilience, and a strong foundation on and off the ice.

Coach Rich is a lifelong player, career educator, and experienced youth coach. With over a decade behind the bench—and as a goalie parent himself—he understands the commitment families make and creates environments where athletes feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

Our coaching team brings backgrounds in education, athletic therapy, and high-level hockey. They deliver more than drills and ice time, mentoring athletes in teamwork, character, and personal development.

Behind the scenes, Rachel leads operations and communication, ensuring families feel informed, supported, and connected.

Inclusion, access, and equity are core to how Wheatland operates. Pay-what-you-can spots make up approximately 10% of all our clinics, and we reserve spaces in our tryout preparation programs for athletes whose families may face financial barriers. Through our Wheatland Community Grant, we also help support hockey-related fees for families in our community—because opportunity should never be limited by circumstance.

Together, we’re building more than a hockey program.

Wheatland Hockey is a welcoming, values-driven community—where every athlete matters.
